Simple Lauki Bharta / Suraikai Dry / Bottle Gourd Dry Punjabi Style

Bottle Gourd is mostly available vegetable from the market. It has much water 
content in it and very good for health. There is lot of nutrients available in it. We 
will make simple Lauki Bharta which is famous in Punjab today. It will go well 
with Chapathi and rice.


Grated bottle gourd - 1 cup
Chopped onion - 1
Desi ghee - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Garam masala - ½ tsp
Salt as per taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing


Heat a skillet and add desi ghee. Once it is melted add cumin seeds.

When cumin seeds start popped up, add chopped onion and fry it.

Onion need to cook for a minute to wilted out. Then, add Chilli powder, turmeric
 powder, garam masala, Salt and stir it.
Now add grated bottle gourd and stir it. No need to add water. Close the lid and 
cook for 5 minutes.

Finally add coriander leaves for garnishing.

Now the tasty bottle gourd dry is ready to serve.
