Medicinal properties of turmeric

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the oldest spices in India. This is called the ‘saffron of the poor’. Turmeric, which is available at a lower price, gives the same benefits as expensive saffron. Turmeric is a crop used for food coloring, flavoring, and medicinal purposes.


Yellow is an herb that combines beauty, health, and spirituality. Its scientific name is 'Curcuma Longa'. Turmeric contains a chemical called curcumin, which gives turmeric its color and has a variety of benefits that are available in turmeric.

Turmeric physiology

Turmeric plants grow up to 60 to 90 cm in height. Its leaves are clustered. The turmeric tuber is a long root that sprouts from the bud on the stem and goes into the soil. It is used as a sacred object during Tamil rituals.

In Indian cuisine in general, turmeric plays an important role. Without the use of turmeric, major Indian cuisine would not be complete.

Turmeric varieties

There are many types of turmeric, only a few of which are widely used.

There are many types of turmeric such as mutta turmeric, kasthoori turmeric, finger turmeric, black turmeric, naga turmeric, kanjiratna turmeric, monkey turmeric, kuda turmeric, wild turmeric, jack turmeric, wood turmeric, and black turmeric. Of these, ‘Alappuzha Turmeric’ is considered to be the best turmeric in the world.

The use of turmeric

Black yellow, heals sores, rash. Can also be applied topically to dandruff and eczema. Curry turmeric is what we use for cooking. If you powder your finger turmeric and mix it with milk and drink it daily, you can control diabetes. Grind wood turmeric with neem leaves to cure measles. The musk turmeric bow has a flattened scent, which is used for beauty. The mutta turmeric will be round in shape and will be put on the face.

Tamil Nadu women have been using turmeric to beautify their face and body since ancient times. There is no substitute for turmeric in removing blemishes and waxing and brightening the face.

As turmeric is a natural sunscreen, it is used by Indian women as a nourishing product for the skin. This prevents hair growth in unwanted areas of the face and body.

If the turmeric powder is rubbed directly on the skin, the anti-bacterial substance in it will remove blackheads and give protection to the skin from the impact of the sun. To heal wounds on the skin, mix honey with turmeric powder, apply and soak and wash.

Softening the feet

To get rid of cracks on the feet, mix turmeric powder with coconut oil and rub it on the cracked areas, the cracks will disappear quickly and the feet will become soft.

Reducing swelling

Swelling of any part of the body can be cured by grinding turmeric powder and onion and rubbing it on the swelling. Mix lemon juice with turmeric powder and apply it on the scars caused by measles.

Breaking down tumors

Dip Kasthoori turmeric powder in onion juice and apply it to the tumors to cure. Grind Kasthoori turmeric and apply it on the affected area over moderate heat to reduce pain and swelling.

Reducing the impact of measles

It is customary to grind neem leaves with turmeric in case of measles. Spraying turmeric water around measles sufferers will destroy the germs that cause the infection and prevent further spread of the disease.

Helps to tighten the loose stomach

If you rinse your mouth with distilled water mixed with turmeric powder, the sore throat will heal and the cold will go away. It is advisable for women to add a little extra turmeric to their diet after childbirth. This helps to reduce the belly caused by after childbirth and helps the stomach to return to its old state. For women, postpartum abdominal pain, uterine problems, turmeric powder is good to eat.

Acts as a disinfectant

If the skin on the face is rough, grind basil with turmeric and apply. The skin will become soft. This is because of the high disinfectant in turmeric. Controlling and reducing diabetes and leprosy. Brushing your teeth with turmeric powder will cure many dental ailments.

Ideal for poisoning

The turmeric broth smells good, and gives color, and cures stomach related issues. Protects meat varieties from spoilage for long days. If you grind green turmeric and apply it as a coating on beetle and spider mites, the poison will go down.

The cold will go away

Burn finger turmeric and inhale the smoke through the nose, it cures colds, headaches, and sneezes. If turmeric smoke is inhaled through the mouth, the alcohol will dissipate. Bathing in turmeric will get rid of body odor.
